  3. Welcome to the PowerDOS CDROM!

  5. This disc contains over 450 megabytes of powerful software for DOS.  You
  6. will find anti-virus software, archiving software, demos of commercial
  7. software and games, educational software, computer emulators, many cool
  8. games, game cheats, game utilities and editors, patches to upgrades
  9. commercial software packages, graphics drivers, raytracers, picture viewers,
  10. paint programs, electronic magazines, networking programs, TCP/IP programs,
  11. programming utilities, source code and examples for ASM, C, Modula,
  12. Oberon/3, and Pascal, sound drivers, sound support, mod players, all sorts
  13. of DOS utilities for disk, hard drive, mouse, memory, printer, tape drive,
  14. and much more!

  38. Quick Start Instructions:
  39.  
  40.   MSDOS Quick Start:
  41.     Change to your CDROM drive and type "view".
  42.     Example:
  43.       C:\> D:
  44.       D:\> view
  45.  
  46.   Windows 3.1/NT:
  47.     Go to "File" menu under program manager and choose Run.  At the
  48.     Command Line box, type: "D:\setup", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive.
  49.     This will install a group folder with icons for this cdrom.
  50.  
  51.   Windows 95:
  52.     Insert the cdrom into the cdrom drive.  This will automatically
  53.     start a CDROM browser program called WinView.
  54.     Alternatively, you can also install the program group and icon
  55.     by selecting the "Start" menu and choosing "Run".  At the Run
  56.     box, type: "D:\setup", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive.

  58. Using the 00_INDEX.HTM:
  59.  
  60. We have included 00_index.htm files so the user may use a Web browser
  61. to view our disc.

  63. In order to view this disc using these 00_index.htm files, point your
  64. Web browser to the root level 00_index.htm file.

  66. For example, in Netscape/Mosaic:
  67.  
  68.         1) Choose File/Open File (or File/Open Local File with Mosaic)
  69.         2) Choose your CDROM Drive under "Drives"
  70.         3) Select the 00_index.htm file
  71.         4) Click on OK
  72.  
  73. The 00_index.htm files have been tested under Netscape 1.1 (Windows,
  74. Macintosh, and FreeBSD), Netscape 1.22 (Windows), Netscape 2.0b2,
  75. Mosaic 2.00 (Final Beta), and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

  79. WinView and View

  81. To make browsing the disc easier, we have included the program WinView
  82. for Windows, and the program VIEW for MSDOS on the CDROM.  These programs
  83. allow you to page through index files, browse through directories on the
  84. CD, view documentation and uncompress/install the program(s) you want
  85. onto your hard disk.

  91. This disk contains many shareware programs and images. Shareware can
  92. be considered to be a sort of try before you buy system where you are
  93. expected to pay the program author a registration fee if you find the
